OSUN CEU Global Teaching Fellowship Program at the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Budapest, Hungary

Call for applications for the (whole) academic year 2024/25 (September 2024 – June 2025), one semester of the academic year, Fall 2024 (September 2024 -January 30, 2025), and/or Spring 2025 (February – June 2025) semester.

The Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) invites applications for Global Teaching Fellowships to teach at ELTE, Budapest, Hungary. The successful applicant will teach introductory and advanced courses. ELTE does not list or specify the courses that are available for teaching but welcomes Fellows to teach various subjectsELTE allows flexibility and the syllabi may be adjusted to the expertise of the selected GTFP Fellow. Based on a comprehensive cooperation agreement between CEU and ELTE, all faculties, schools, and departments can be approached.

Endorsement letters for teaching at other faculties should be obtained directly from the head of the respective faculty.

In the case of the Institute for Political and International Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences ELTE, GTFP applicants, are kindly asked to prepare their Motivation letter, Resume (CV), (optionally the list of the desired courses and the Teaching Philosophy Statement), and send it for Marton Belik (to belikm@ceu.edu). Online interviews will be organized with the Director of the Institute on March 1st, 2024, where the applicants may present themselves, and learn about the future host department. The Institue will issue the preliminary acceptance letters based on these interviews.

Application material should include the following for all applicants:

  • Motivation letter,
  • Resume (CV),
  • Teaching Philosophy Statement (1,000 words),
  • List of the desired course(s),
  • Preliminary acceptance letter from ELTE (email or scanned copy),
  • One Letter of Reference (or Endorsement letter) (email or scanned copy, see details below).

Applicants who are PhD Candidates at the time of application:

  • Endorsement letter from the Supervisor (email or scanned copy) or,
  • or Endorsement letter from the Head of Doctoral Program  (email or scanned copy).

Applicants who are PhD graduates:

  • One Letter of Reference  (email or scanned copy).

Additionally applicants from OSUN-CIVICA: 

  • One Letter of Reference (email or scanned copy - as described above),
  • English language proficiency minimum level C1 – if the Ph.D. studies were not conducted in the English language.

Applicants from CIVICA will get a double affiliation in Budapest, with this host institution for teaching, and the CEU Democracy Institute as host institution for research activities. CIVICA GTFP Fellows will have a research supervisor at the CEU Democracy Institute. If there is a Faculty member or Researcher at the CEU Democracy Institute who you think would be a good match, please include this in your application.
