OSUN CEU Global Teaching Fellowship Program at Universidad de los Andes (UniAndes), Bogotá, Colombia

Call for applications for the one semester of the academic year, Fall 2024 (August – December 2024), and/or Spring 2025 (January to June).

Universidad de los Andes (UniAndes) invites applications for Global Teaching Fellowships to teach at UniAndes, Bogotá, Colombia. The successful applicant will teach one course per semester in the undergraduate program of Political Science at the Department of Political Science and Global Studies.

Eligible applicants include Ph.D. graduates who, by the beginning of the Fellowship received their Ph.D. degree from the CEU or an OSUN or CIVICA institution and advanced (e.g. ABD all but dissertation) Ph.D. candidates from the institutions mentioned above.

The successful candidates will teach one course per semester which will be set by the Institute or Department of UniAndes, in agreement with the Fellow. The content of the second course is subject to discussion. The language of instruction is English. Candidates should discuss the Syllabus of their specialized course with their supervisor and the department at UniAndes in advance.

We will give priority to applicants who can offer courses in any of the following topics:

Semester one: August – December 2024

Political Science Program

Semester two: January - June 2025 

Global Studies Program        

Democracy Crisis

Political Economy

Contentious Politics

Social Movements

Public Opinion and Political Behavior

Conflict and Political Violence (comparative perspective)

Qualitative methods (QCA, process tracing, comparative historical method)

Environment, sustainability and climate change

Global History

Area Studies (particularly Asia)

Global Health

Introduction to International Law (for non-law students)

Global Commerce

Successful candidates will receive an honorarium from UniAndes and additionally, a one-time travel expense (location-Bogotá-location) and private health insurance will be funded separately from the salary. One position is open in a semester.

Successful candidates should comply with national visa regulations and are strongly advised to contact UniAndes for more specific information on visa issues and the other bureaucratic aspects of the Fellowship.

  • Teaching Philosophy Statement (1,000 words),
  • One Letter of reference (see details below),
  • English language proficiency (see details below).

Applicants who are Ph.D. Candidates at the time of application:

  • Endorsement letter from the Supervisor (email or scanned copy),
  • or an Endorsement letter from the Head of the Doctoral Program (email or scanned copy).

Applicants who are Ph.D. graduates:

  • One letter of reference (email or scanned copy).

From OSUN, CIVICA graduates:

  • One Letter of Reference (email or scanned copy),
  • English language proficiency minimum level C1 – if the Ph.D. studies were not in English.
